Quilt for the Wild Arc Society Raffle
At our August meeting, the members in attendance
agreed to make another quilt for the Wild Arc Society’s annual raffle.
The members indicated they would be willing to make a block or
two for the quilt.
A small committee of three, Dawn Danay, Carol Jess,
and Marlyn Simpson, was formed to lead the process.
The Committee would like to make a quilt composed of
bear paw blocks surrounding a central appliqué panel that
features sky and meadow as a background with large trees and a black
bear strolling across the meadow.
We would then do a fairly large border featuring flying geese
using the method where the geese are actually swooping versus being all
in a straight line.
You are invited to make an 8” bear paw block or two.
The pattern is attached and may be found on our website as well.
Hard copies will also be available at our meetings and sewing
days. We need approximately
80 x 8” blocks. We would ask
that they be made with a cream colour background with dark brown for the
pads of the paw and green for the claws.
We would like to be in a position to donate the quilt
to the Wild Arc by the end of November so an early response would be
greatly appreciated. The
commitment has been made to the Wild Arc as we are certain you will be
as generous with your time as you always are.
